So what defines a Spartan Dog?

A spartan dog is a pure working type of dog. We are focussing on those who origin from bulldog, terrier, molosser blood and mixes of these types.

Dog breeds such as the Staffordshire Bull Terrier (SBT), American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT), Patterdale Terrier, Argentine Dogo, Bully Kutta, Gull Terr, German Jagd Terrier, Bull Arab, Boerboel, American Bulldog, Perro de Presa Canario, Fila Brazileiro, Titan Terrier and many more breeds can be found in our Dogs section.

  • Saint Bernard


    We have added the Saint Bernard to the Dogs section. The Saint Bernard or St. Bernard is a large sized, heavy and muscular dog that was developed in the alpine pass between Switzerland and Italy. The Saint Bernard was used in the past at the Saint Bernard Pass (nowadays known as the Great St Bernard Pass) as a search and rescue dog in the cold ad snow crowded area and as a protection dog. The Saint Bernard of today is more of a family dog, but is occasionally still used as watch dog. (By Don on 2012-03-10.)
  • Central Asian Ovcharka


    We have added the Central Asian Ovcharka to the Dogs section. The Central Asian Ovcharka or Central Asian Shepherd Dog is a large sized, heavy and muscular dog that was developed in Russia. The Central Asian Ovcharka was used for protecting flocks of sheep and their owners from predators and robbers and their tasks quickly grew to being a guarding protect or fighting dog as well.   • Caucasian Ovcharka


    We have added the Caucasian Ovcharka to the Dogs section. The Caucasian Ovcharka or Caucasian Shepherd Dog is a large sized, heavy and muscular dog that was developed in the Caucasus area (Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia). The Caucasian Ovcharka is an ancient breed in the past was used for herding large flocks of sheep and protecting them from predators and robbers. The Caucasian Ovcharka of today is more of a family dog, but is occasionally still used as a protector of herds or as a watch dog. (By Don on 2012-02-11.)
