   Alaunt Non-Bulldog: Alaunt Gentil and Alaunt Veantre  

Alaunt Non-Bulldog: Alaunt Gentil and Alaunt Veantre / Alaunt Gentil / Alaunt Veantre The Non-Bulldog type Alaunt, known from the types of Alaunt Gentil and Alaunt Veantre (Vautre) represents a dog that has a bit of sight hound in it with maybe a bit of Mastiff. Alaunt Gentil should not be confused with the "heavier" catch dog type of Alaunt/Mastiff used to go in at the kill (Alaunt Veantre do (attempt) do this if not assisted in time). The Alaunt Gentil should be not unlike a heavy built greyhound with a strong head, broad medium lengthed muzzle. These running Mastiffs are tall, rangey, but strong "par force" hounds. Alaunt Gentil should be athletic, well muscled, with thick tight fitting coats with the ability to follow scent as well as using sight, they should have lots of drive. They are of a type, being bred for form and function and purpose not bred for looks.

   Argentine Dogo

   Bullmastiff  

Bullmastiff / Bull Mastiff The Bullmastiff or Bull Mastiff is a large short-haired, robust, muscular dog developed in England. The Bullmastiff was once used to track down and take hold of poachers. Today, the Bullmastiff is especially used as a watchful guard and family dog.

   Bully Kutta  

Bully Kutta / Bully Kutta The Bully Kutta is a rare dog breed from Southern India, from the Thanjavur and Tiruchi districts and is sometimes referred to as the Bully Cutha, South Asian Mastiff, Pakistani Bully Dog, or the Pakistani Mastiff. It is a large, short coated and muscular guard dog of the Molosser type.

   Cane Corso

   Caucasian Ovcharka  

Caucasian Ovcharka / Caucasian Shepherd Dog The Caucasian Ovcharka or Caucasian Shepherd Dog is a large sized, heavy and muscular dog that was developed in the Caucasus area (Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia). The Caucasian Ovcharka is an ancient breed in the past was used for herding large flocks of sheep and protecting them from predators and robbers. The Caucasian Ovcharka of today is more of a family dog, but is occasionally still used as a protector of herds or as a watch dog.

The Central Asian Ovcharka was used for protecting flocks of sheep and their owners from predators and robbers and their tasks quickly grew to being a guarding protect or fighting dog as well.

   Moscow Watchdog  

Moscow Watchdog / Moscow Dog The Moscow Watchdog is a large sized, heavy and muscular dog that was developed in Moscow, Russia (then the Soviet Union) after World War II. It was bred from crosses between the St. Bernard, Caucasian Shepherd, and Russian Spotted Hound breeds. The Moscow Watchdog is mostly used as both a family dog and watch dog.

   Neapolitan Mastiff

The Neapolitan Mastiff is an ancient breed that the Romans used for guarding the house and yard, and was even used in siege. Nowadays the Neapolitan Mastiff is a watchful show and family dog, but is occasionally still used as a real protect dog.
